Born in 1954 to a Chinese family in
Singapore who was of Taoist/Buddhist descent. Saved in 1977 from a very
difficult and complicated family situation. Started serving full-time with a
Christian halfway house two months after conversion. Studied at a short-term
bible school in 1979 before joining Operation Mobilisation (OM). Served with OM
for over 30 years of which 17 years was spent on the M.V. Doulos in various
capacity (advance preparation personnel, conference coordinator, evangelism
coordinator, conference speaker, ministry and training, etc)
Graduated from Trinity Theological
College in 1989. Served in the local church as a Small Group Coordinator/pastor
for 3 years, training and teaching small group leaders, teaching in
discipleship groups, served as the Director for training and ministry.
Kenny has been married for 27 years to Bee Lee (whom he met on the Doulos in
1979) and have a daughter, Deborah, who is married to Jacob Choi and lives in Australia.
Since 1996, served as Assistant to the
Director, Partnership Development Manager, as Area Representative of OM East
Asia & the Pacific and main conference & seminar speaker and also
responsible for special leadership training & mentoring.
Previously served as the team leader
and itinerant speaker at the London based South-East London Fellowship, under
Special Projects together with George Verwer, the founder of OM. Kenny
discovered he had late stage cancer in 2010 but continued to serve as
an itinerant speaker for OM though officially stepped down from his leadership role in
London.
He passed into eternity on Saturday, 17 November 2012 in Singapore.
